AUTUMN DOLOMITES
PHOTO TOUR 2027 ITINERARY
The following itinerary gives you an idea of how our Autumn Dolomites Photo Tour 2027 is planned. As this is a landscape photography workshop in the Italian Dolomites, the exact daily schedule may change depending on mountain weather, morning fog, autumn colors and the best available light. Our priority is always to be in the right location at the right time to photograph golden forests, dramatic mountain peaks and alpine lakes in the best possible conditions — not to follow a rigid timetable.
DAY 1 – Arrival in Italy & Transfer to the Dolomites
On the first day of our Autumn Dolomites Photo Tour, we will pick you up directly from Venice Marco Polo Airport or your hotel if you decide to arrive a few days earlier. You won’t need to worry about arranging taxis or transportation to a meeting point.
After the pickup, we’ll enjoy lunch together at a nearby restaurant, where we can get to know each other while experiencing delicious Italian cuisine.
Following lunch, we’ll head towards Cortina d’Ampezzo, a beautiful mountain town in the heart of the Italian Dolomites, surrounded by spectacular peaks and golden autumn forests. Here, we’ll check into our first hotel, which will be our comfortable base for the next three nights. After check-in, we’ll visit our first sunset photography location near the hotel – the iconic Lake Misurina.

DAYS 2–4 – Exploring the Autumn Landscapes of Cortina d’Ampezzo
Over the next three days, we will focus on photographing the spectacular autumn landscapes surrounding Cortina d’Ampezzo. October transforms this region of the Italian Dolomites into a paradise for landscape photographers, with golden larch forests, mystical morning fog and dramatic mountain light. We’ll explore iconic viewpoints along with hidden gems discovered through years of photographing this region. One of the highlights will be Tre Cime di Lavaredo, where three majestic limestone peaks rise above breathtaking alpine scenery, offering incredible opportunities for autumn mountain photography.
We will also explore the beautiful mountain landscapes around Lago di Braies, Passo Falzarego and Passo Giau, where golden larch forests contrast with rugged limestone peaks and occasionally fresh snow on the highest summits. Our guides will help you master composition, light and camera techniques to capture the unique colors and atmosphere of autumn in the Dolomites.
Another highlight will be the picturesque alpine lakes of Lago di Antorno and Lago di Landro, where golden forests, dramatic mountain reflections and occasional morning mist create unforgettable opportunities for landscape photography.

DAYS 4–6 – Golden Larch Forests & Autumn Beauty of the Dolomites
On the fourth day, we will transfer to our second hotel, allowing us to explore new autumn photography locations in the Dolomites. We’ll stay near Val di Funes, a beautiful mountain area known for its dramatic peaks, colorful autumn landscapes and peaceful atmosphere away from the busy region around Cortina d’Ampezzo.
During the following two days, we will photograph some of the most spectacular autumn scenery in the Italian Dolomites. One of our destinations will be Passo Gardena, where golden larch forests, winding mountain roads and towering limestone peaks create incredible opportunities for autumn landscape photography.
We will also visit the iconic Alpe di Siusi (Seiser Alm), famous for its rolling alpine meadows, traditional mountain huts and breathtaking mountain backdrops. In autumn, golden larch trees and mystical morning fog transform this landscape into a photographer’s paradise, especially during the beautiful sunrise light.
Another highlight will be the picturesque Val di Funes, where colorful autumn forests contrast with the dramatic Odle mountain peaks. Along the way, we’ll explore several lesser-known photography spots offering unique compositions and beautiful views of the autumn Dolomites.

DAYS 6–7 – Hidden Autumn Gems, Post-processing & Departure
On our final full day, we will continue exploring the breathtaking autumn landscapes surrounding Passo delle Erbe, one of the most beautiful areas of the southern Dolomites. This region offers spectacular views of dramatic mountain peaks, golden larch forests and peaceful alpine valleys, where the changing autumn colors create extraordinary opportunities for landscape photography.
We will also venture into lesser-known alpine valleys rarely visited by tourists. These hidden locations offer beautiful opportunities to capture colorful autumn forests, atmospheric mountain scenery and unique compositions that go beyond the typical photographs of the Dolomites.
During the final days of our photography workshop, we will also dedicate time to post-processing lessons, showing you how to bring out the best in the autumn photographs you've captured throughout the tour. All editing sessions will be recorded and shared with you afterward, allowing you to revisit the techniques whenever you wish.
On the seventh and final day, we will enjoy our last morning in the Dolomites before beginning our journey back to Venice Marco Polo Airport. After breakfast, we’ll pack our belongings and prepare for departure. Just like on arrival, your transfer is fully taken care of. We will drop you off directly at the airport or your hotel if you decide to extend your stay in Italy, bringing our unforgettable Autumn Dolomites Photo Tour to an end.

WHERE YOU'LL STAY DURING OUR
DOLOMITES PHOTO TOUR
Comfort and relaxation are an important part of our photography tours. During our Autumn Dolomites Photo Tour, we will stay in two carefully selected hotels, conveniently located near some of the most spectacular autumn photography locations in the Italian Dolomites.
We'll spend our first three nights near Cortina d'Ampezzo, followed by three nights near Val di Funes, famous for its golden larch forests and breathtaking mountain scenery. Staying in two different areas allows us to explore a wider variety of autumn landscapes while minimizing unnecessary travel.
After our sunrise and sunset photography sessions, you'll have a comfortable place to relax, recharge your batteries and enjoy the peaceful autumn atmosphere of the Italian Alps. Daily hotel breakfasts are included throughout the tour.

PHYSICAL DIFFICULTY – EASY TO MODERATE
Our Autumn Dolomites Photo Tour is designed primarily for landscape photographers, not experienced hikers. Most photography locations are accessible by car followed by relatively short walks. Some locations may involve slightly longer walks along scenic mountain paths, occasionally over uneven or wet terrain. We always allow plenty of time and maintain a comfortable, relaxed pace for everyone. Our itinerary is carefully planned to reach each location without unnecessary rushing.
Our goal is to make the photography experience enjoyable and comfortable while exploring some of the most spectacular autumn landscapes in the Italian Dolomites. October mornings can be cold, and some trails may be wet or slippery, so sturdy footwear is recommended. If you have any concerns about your fitness or mobility, please contact us before booking. We'll be happy to discuss the physical requirements with you.
